As Ngenda Tours and Safari, we have our own Toyota Alphards can offer luxury and comfort, it is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) designed for paved roads, not for the rough terrain encountered on most traditional safari parks. It's better suited for transfers, city tours, or comfortable excursions where roads are good.
To perfect your experience further, our professional driver guides have great driving skills and are equipped with the best communication tools. This allows them to be in touch with fellow guides and the office at all times. So fasten your seatbelts, sit back and enjoy your comfort and Airport transfers in Cities, certain luxury or shorter safari experiences in Dar es salaam and Zanzibar.
Please note! Booking a Toyota Alphard for a safari is generally not recommended, as its design is for city and highway driving rather than the rugged off-road conditions found in most safari parks, attributable to Off-road limitations, Lack of safari features and Reliability on rough roads.

Driver's License Requirements
»» Drivers must possess a valid national driver’s license (for Tanzanians) or an international driver’s license (for foreigners) to operate a vehicle. The license must match the vehicle class being driven.
»» All our professional drivers and guides are licensed by the Tanzanian Tourism Board and hold appropriate driver permits.
»» Self-drive options (if available) require presentation of a valid international driver’s license and passport copy upon booking.
Insurance and Coverage Policy
»» Vehicle insurance is mandatory, and companies must have third-party or comprehensive coverage.
»» Travelers are advised to have personal travel insurance for coverage beyond what is provided (e.g., international medical care, trip interruption).
»» All vehicles are insured under comprehensive commercial insurance, covering: Passengers Third-party liability Vehicle damage Emergency medical evacuation (for safari vehicles in remote areas)
Available Payment Methods
»» The Bank of Tanzania allows payments in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) and foreign currencies via approved financial institutions.
»» Accepts payments via: Bank transfers (local and international) Credit/Debit cards (Visa, MasterCard) Mobile money (MPesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money – for locals) Cash payments in USD or TZS (at approved exchange rates)
Cancellation and Modification Policy
»» Tourism operators must clearly state cancellation/refund policies in client agreements (regulated by the Tourism Act and TTB guidelines).
»» Cancellations: 30+ days before trip: 75–100% refund 15–29 days: 50% refund Less than 15 days: no refund
»» Modifications: Free changes allowed if made 15+ days before the trip, subject to availability. Last-minute changes may incur administrative or supplier charges.
»» Force majeure clauses (e.g., illness, flight cancellation, political unrest) may allow partial refunds or trip rescheduling.
Smoking and Pet Policies
»» Smoking is regulated in public transport and accommodations under the Tobacco Control Act.
»» Smoking: Strictly prohibited inside vehicles and shared accommodations. Designated smoking areas may be available at some lodges/camps. Pets: Generally not allowed on safaris or shared group tours for safety and health reasons. Exceptions may be made for service animals with prior approval and documentation.
Minimum Age Requirements
»» Age restrictions vary by activity (e.g., driving, hiking, game drives). Tourism operators must consider safety.
»» Self-drive rentals: Minimum age is 23 years with at least 2 years of driving experience.
»» Guided safaris: No strict age limit, but: Children under 5 years may be restricted from walking safaris or balloon flights. Family-friendly itineraries are available with child-friendly accommodations and guides.
»» Some mountain climbs (e.g., Kilimanjaro) require minimum age of 10–12, depending on route and physical condition.
